Stumble UponNishantha Muthuhettigama refused bail
EnlargeNov 19, 2009 5:22 PM · Jailed UPFA councilor of southern province Nishantha Muthuhettigama has had a bail application filed by him rejected.
Galle chief magistrate Thamara Tennakoon said today (Nov. 19) the politician has breached his bail conditions over previous cases.
Mr. Muthuhettigama is in remand custody over a charge of incurring damage to the property of the PC.
Magistrate will take up the case once again tomorrow.
Meanwhile, the councilor was brought under police escort this morning for a meeting of the provincial council.
Speaking to the media here, he said he would seek legal redress against PC officials for violating his fundamental rights.
